When my fitness journey started 2 years ago, I was incredibly weary of what my potential was. I was a size 14, about 165 lbs. and joked about wanting “Michelle Obama's arms.” I was certain that my body would never comfortably be a size 4, never thought I would compete as a bodybuilder or play sports again. There was more here limiting me than just my body: my mindset was also weak and broken.
Working with Justin was great. A huge plus for his clients is that he is extensively educated in the science of exercise, holding many different certifications in the fitness community. Right off the bat he offered to create a meal plan to help get my diet into gear. The sessions he created were challenging, but never impossible. He knew when I was at my limit and would modify when I was fatigued. Justin never gave up on me and he will not give up on you.
Since our first meeting, I have lost approximately 45 lbs, now comfortably fit into a size 4, competed in a bodybuilding competition (bikini division), and have begun training to compete in an Olympic Weightlifting meet early next year. With his motivation, I have found the happiness that Justin speaks often about. I have made a move across the country to the beautiful and sunny California, continuing my fitness journey and pursuing passions of mine that I had only dreamed about a year and a half ago.
In addition to this, at the time of my fitness revolution I was going through a very tough period in my life and he offered support and motivation to continue, knowing that my best self was well on its way. He is very much the type of person who cares about his clients and wants to make sure that they stay happy, positive and motivated. I would text him frequently as I accomplished and created new goals and he would share in the excitement.
Justin is easily the kindest and most challenging personal trainer that you will have. He will push you to your full potential because he sees it in you, even if you can’t see it yourself. I will forever be grateful for what Justin has given me. He taught me that I am worthy and capable, and reminded me that I am strong and passionate. I have been training with Justin for about a year and a half. I had never really worked with a trainer before and did not know what to expect. Right from the beginning in the initial evaluation Justin listened to what I wanted to get out of the training and was excited to help me get to where I wanted to go. At first I thought “yep, typical sales technique to keep a client”, but it is not. He is completely sincere and truly wants to help me get to where I want to be. This is incredibly helpful especially during the times where I just don’t feel it and slack. Justin always motivates me and gets me back on track.
Justin does not just give you a cookie cutter, one size fits all plan either. He works with you to get what you want out of the training and works around any issues you may have. I have issues with my right shoulder and he plans workouts and activities around it and to help strengthen it. It’s not a “just don’t do this because it hurts,” I know that he has researched my condition more than I have to help me. So again he really does care.
Since working with Justin, I have been able to make a positive change every time we do an evaluation – improved cardio condition, decreased body fat percentage and increased muscle mass. I am proud to say I am down about 13 percent body fat and ready to lose more!

For two years, my strength training was made up of weight lifting. I was technically strong but not physically fit. Then in 2015 I started working with Justin and his training methods have made a difference. I am now more toned than I have been in years. My legs are very strong, to the point that in the summer of 2016, I hiked 25+ miles in three days in the Scottish Highlands. That may not seem like much, but for me at the age of 62, it is a major accomplishment; especially since I used to hike the Colorado Rockies in the 1970s! Justin has taught me a lot about the human body, how each part relates to the other and how it all works together. Turns out your body is an amazing machine and the better you take care of it — the more you respect it — the stronger a partner it becomes with you.
Finally, Justin never takes his eyes off you as you work. He corrects your position, your movement and explains to you why that matters. So the end product is you feel better, move better, and have more confidence in yourself. His knowledge, expertise, and professionalism add up to not only a terrific trainer but a focused teacher. It is a partnership I value — even though I curse him during the sixth round of 45 second planks!

Justin was hands down the best trainer I have ever had. While working out is not what I would consider 'fun', he somehow makes it feel that way. By changing up my daily routine to incorporating my favorite Bosu Ball exercises, he always kept me on my toes!
Justin often went above and beyond his responsibilities as my trainer. On the days when I wasn't in the gym training, he would check in to see how my workouts were going. He always made an effort to respond in a timely manner to my questions on our days off. Justin would often provide suggestions on different exercises and healthier meal options.
